Your Sutro floating pool monitor is reporting pH or free chlorine readings that don't match your manual test kit results. The Sutro app shows values that are significantly off — for example, pH reads 7.8 when your test strip shows 7.2, or free chlorine reads 0 ppm when you just added chlorine an hour ago. The Sutro monitor uses replaceable reagent cartridges that automatically mix with pool water samples inside the device. Each cartridge lasts about 90 days and performs roughly 1,000 individual tests. Inaccurate readings are almost always caused by an expired or air-contaminated reagent cartridge, or by the sample intake port being clogged with debris.

The Sutro floating pool monitor stops sending readings to the Sutro app, shows as offline, or fails to connect to WiFi during initial setup. Sutro connects directly to your home WiFi network (2.4 GHz only) and sends test results to the Sutro cloud every hour.
