We are looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented, ambitious team player to join our growing team as an Entry-Level Cable Technician with lots of room for growth! This position is focused on new Category 5e and Category 6 cabling and fiber optic installations, in addition to AV, security surveillance, and access control projects. Candidates should have a solid foundation in low-voltage installations and a strong desire to grow their skill set in the field. The Cable Technician will primarily be responsible for installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting copper, coax, and fiber optic cables. You may also be requested to assist in other areas such as the installation of professional AV/video conferencing systems, security cameras, and access control solutions. BCS regularly works on Prevailing Wage projects. As part of our team, you’ll gain exposure to both commercial and Prevailing Wage environments, with the opportunity to expand your skills while ensuring work is completed in compliance with specifications and wage requirements. Benefits include: Competitive rate based on experience (including Prevailing Wage opportunities) Prevailing Wage Projects Paid holiday, vacation, and sick days Health, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) Professional, exciting, and fun work environment Challenging work in a team atmosphere that encourages success Job Duties and Responsibilities: Run, terminate, pull, and test copper cable (Category 5e and Category 6) Run, terminate, pull, and test fiber optic cable and A/V (coax, etc.) cable Assemble new rack equipment (2-post, 4-post, ladder racking, wire-management, etc.) Test and troubleshoot miscellaneous cabling and A/V issues Install other items such as access points, time clocks, paging equipment, A/V equipment, etc. Perform all work in compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and Prevailing Wage requirements when applicable Other tasks as needed Qualifications & Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of hands-on cabling experience in the field Ability to troubleshoot miscellaneous cabling issues Ability and experience with reading blueprints/building plans Clear communication skills (verbal and written) and documentation skills Ability to work independently and within a team environment Professional appearance and ability to work with clients in the field Ability to lift 50 pounds Clean driving record, valid driver’s license, and insurable Willingness to work flexible hours occasionally to meet client deadlines (including early mornings, late nights, or overnight work) It’s a PLUS if you have... Panduit, Corning, or Systimax certifications Boom and/or scissor lift certifications Cable certification experience (with tools such as Fluke) Audio-visual installation experience Paging system installation experience Company Description Fun, woman-owned company.   • Install, configure, and verify low voltage technician systems for residential or small-business customers.
  • Complete clean site walkthroughs, document work performed, and confirm customer handoff requirements.
  • Troubleshoot device, wiring, app, network, and integration issues using a repeatable field process.
  • Coordinate with dispatch, support, and operations teams so jobs move from scheduled to completed without surprises.

Requirements & fit

  • Lead experience in low voltage technician, field service, smart-home installation, low-voltage work, or customer-facing technical support.
  • Comfort reading install notes, diagnosing field conditions, and communicating clearly with customers.
  • Licensing or manufacturer certifications may be requested depending on market and job scope.
  • Reliable communication, schedule discipline, and a professional installation standard are expected.
