Installation Steps

1

Download the Google Home App

All Lenovo smart home devices are set up through the Google Home app, not a dedicated Lenovo app. Install Google Home from the App Store or Google Play. Sign in with the Google account you want to associate with the device — use your primary household Google account so the device integrates with any existing Google Home structure you have. Make sure your phone is on the same 2.4GHz WiFi network the Lenovo device will use.

2

Power On the Lenovo Device

Connect the Lenovo device to power using the included adapter. The device will boot and display a setup screen showing a QR code or written setup code. For the Smart Display and Smart Clock, the screen shows a prompt to continue setup on your phone. Do not press any buttons during the boot sequence — wait for the setup screen to appear fully before continuing, which typically takes 30 to 60 seconds.

3

Add the Device in Google Home App

In the Google Home app tap the plus icon in the top left then tap Set up device then tap New device. Select your household location. The app will search for nearby devices — your Lenovo device should appear. If it does not appear automatically, tap the device type from the list and follow the manual entry prompts. You may be asked to point your phone's camera at the QR code displayed on the Lenovo device.

4

Connect to Your WiFi Network

When prompted, select your home WiFi network from the list and enter the password. Lenovo smart home devices require 2.4GHz WiFi — if your router broadcasts separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks, select the 2.4GHz network name specifically. After entering the password, the device will connect to WiFi and the Google Home app will confirm the connection with a success screen.

5

Assign to a Room and Enable Google Assistant

After connection, name the device clearly — Bedroom Display or Kitchen Clock — and assign it to a room in your Google Home. This room assignment determines which other devices share the same room group for voice commands. Once set up, test Google Assistant by saying Hey Google followed by a question or command. The device should respond immediately confirming voice assistant activation.
