Hayward AquaRite Salt Cell Not Generating Chlorine

Your Hayward AquaRite salt chlorine generator is running but your pool's free chlorine level keeps dropping to zero. The AquaRite control box (mounted on the wall near the pool equipment) shows the pump is running and the system is on, but chlorine production is not keeping up with demand. The salt cell (the clear cylindrical housing plumbed inline after the filter and heater) should produce visible bubbles inside the cell when actively generating chlorine through electrolysis. If you look through the clear cell housing and see no bubbles while the system shows it's generating, the cell plates may be scaled, the salt level may be too low, or the cell has reached end of life.

Hayward Pool Pump Not Priming or Losing Prime

The Hayward variable speed pump runs but the strainer basket does not fill with water, air bubbles are visible in the pump lid, or the pump loses prime after running for a few minutes. A pump that cannot pull water from the pool cannot circulate, filter, or chlorinate. Air leaks on the suction side are the most common cause — air enters the plumbing between the pool and the pump, breaking the vacuum the pump needs to pull water.

The Hayward OmniLogic app shows your pool system but tapping buttons to turn on the pump, heater, or lights does nothing. The OmniLogic touchscreen on the equipment pad may still work locally but remote commands from the app are ignored or delayed by minutes. This happens when the OmniHub (the WiFi module that bridges the OmniLogic controller to the internet) loses its cloud connection or when the RS-485 communication between the OmniHub and the OmniLogic main board has errors. The OmniHub is a small black box mounted inside the OmniLogic enclosure with a single Ethernet port and a status LED on the front.
