Before You Start

- Ensure Hue Bridge is already set up and working

Installation Steps
Plan Your Strip Layout
Measure the surface where you want to mount the lightstrip using a tape measure. The base strip is two meters long and you can add one-meter extensions to reach up to ten meters total. Determine where the power supply end needs to be since this is where the strip connects to the wall outlet. Check that an outlet is within reach. If you need a shorter strip note the cut marks printed every 33 centimeters along the strip.

Thoroughly clean the surface where the strip will be applied using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth. Remove all dust grease and residue. For under-cabinet mounting clean the bottom edge of the cabinet. For behind-TV mounting clean the back bezel edge. Let the surface dry completely for two minutes. The 3M adhesive requires a clean dry surface to bond properly and will peel off within days if the surface is dusty or oily.

Starting from the power supply end peel back about six inches of the adhesive backing. Press the strip firmly against your surface holding for five seconds. Continue peeling and pressing a few inches at a time working along the entire length. At corners fold the strip gently at 90 degrees. Do not crease or kink the strip. If you need a shorter length cut at any marked cut line using sharp scissors before applying the remaining section.

The power supply unit plugs into the end of the lightstrip via a proprietary connector. Click the connector firmly until it seats. Plug the power supply into a wall outlet. The strip should illuminate in warm white confirming the connection. Position the power supply where it has airflow and will not overheat. Use cable clips or ties to route the power cord neatly along the furniture edge or wall.
Pair with Hue Bridge
Open the Philips Hue app on your phone. Go to Settings then Light setup then Add light. Tap Search and the app will scan for new Zigbee devices. Your lightstrip should appear within 30 seconds. Tap it to add it to your system. Assign it to a room and give it a descriptive name like Under Cabinet Strip or TV Backlight. You can now control it with all Hue scenes colors schedules and automations.
