Confirm the wiring
A whole-home humidifier connects to the ecobee's accessory terminals (labeled ACC+ and ACC-, or ACC/HUM depending on model). If it was never wired there, the ecobee cannot control it. Wiring the humidifier, solenoid, and accessory terminals is an HVAC professional task.
Add it in Equipment settings
On the ecobee go to Main Menu > Settings > Installation Settings > Equipment (Thresholds) and add or enable Humidifier. If it is not configured here, no humidity controls appear and it never runs.
Set the humidify mode
