Problem Description

The ECOVACS Home app shows Error 114 (Dust bin full). Deebot's airflow sensor sees a blockage - either a genuinely full bin, a clogged filter, or a jammed airflow path - and stops so it doesn't run with no suction.

Why This Happens in Real Homes

Error 114 is Deebot's airflow sensor detecting a blockage and reporting the bin as full. Often it really is full, but just as often the culprit is a filter caked with fine dust, a clump jammed in the airflow inlet, or - on combo mop models - a filter that got damp and choked the airflow. Drywall dust, ash, and fine pet hair pack a filter solid fast.

Work from the bin outward: empty it, tap or replace the filter, and clear the inlet channel that runs from the main brush up to the bin. Make sure a mop-splashed filter is bone dry before refitting, and reseat both the filter and the bin until they click. If Error 114 persists with an empty bin, fresh filter, and clear path, the airflow sensor or fan needs Ecovacs service.

Symptoms

  • ECOVACS Home app shows Error 114
  • Voice says the dust bin is full
  • Error 114 even after emptying the bin
  • Weak suction before the error
  • Debris left behind after a run
  • Robot stops mid-clean repeatedly
  • Whistling or straining fan sound
  • Filter looks grey and caked

Recognize these? Here's what usually causes it.

Common Causes

  • Dust bin genuinely full
  • Filter clogged with fine dust
  • Airflow path or inlet blocked by a clump
  • Filter wet from a mop run or washing
  • Filter seated incorrectly
  • Bin not clicked in fully
  • Fine dust caking the fan intake
  • Airflow sensor dirty

Most fixes happen in the first 3 steps.

Warning

If Error 114 persists with an empty bin, fresh dry filter, and clear airflow path, the airflow sensor or fan may be failing - contact Ecovacs.

Step-by-Step Solution

1

Empty the Bin

Pull the dustbin out of the rear or top of the robot and empty it fully into the trash. Error 114 fires the moment the bin fills, so start here even if you emptied it recently.

2

Check the Filter

Open the bin and lift out the filter (a pleated or sponge-and-pleated filter depending on model). If it's grey and caked, tap it against the trash to knock out dust, or replace it if it won't come clean.

3

Dry a Wet Filter

On combo vacuum-and-mop models a damp filter chokes airflow and reads as full. If yours got wet, let it air-dry completely for 24 hours before refitting, or fit a dry spare - never run with a wet filter.

4

Clear the Airflow Inlet

Look into the bin's inlet mouth and the channel that leads from the main brush up to the bin. A clump of hair or felt lodged here blocks airflow and mimics a full bin. Pull it out with tweezers.

5

Reseat the Filter

Slide the filter back in the correct orientation until it sits flush and the bin lid closes fully. A filter that's crooked or in backwards leaks and confuses the airflow sensor.

6

Reseat the Bin

Push the dustbin back into the robot until it clicks. A bin that isn't fully seated breaks the airflow seal and can re-trigger Error 114.

7

Blow Out the Fan Intake

Fine dust from drywall or ash cakes the fan intake grille behind the bin. With the bin out, use compressed air to clear the intake so the fan pulls full airflow.

Confirm and Escalate

Press AUTO and listen for strong suction. If Error 114 keeps firing with an empty bin, a fresh filter, and a clear airflow path, the airflow sensor or fan may be faulty - contact Ecovacs.

Quick Solutions

Empty the dust bin completely
Tap out or replace the clogged filter
Clear any clump blocking the airflow inlet
Dry a wet filter fully or replace it
Reseat the filter correctly
Push the bin in until it clicks
Blow dust off the fan intake
Wipe the airflow sensor area clean

Still having issues? This is usually the deeper cause below.

If this comes back after following these steps, check whether a recent app or firmware update reset a default setting — the fix works, but the setting gets reverted silently.

Pro Tip

On mop-and-vacuum Deebots, a filter that got damp is a sneaky Error 114 cause - keep a dry spare filter and never refit a wet one.

Real-World Insight

This issue almost always looks more complex than it is — the majority of cases trace back to a single setting, a stale credential, or a default that shipped wrong.
