Why Won't My Blink Sync Module or Camera Connect to WiFi?

Your Blink Sync Module (or Blink Mini) won't connect to WiFi during setup, or keeps failing at the network step. The number-one cause is Blink being 2.4GHz-only while your phone or router is pushing it toward 5GHz.
Why This Happens in Real Homes
Nearly every Blink WiFi failure comes down to one fact the app doesn't shout loudly enough: Blink is 2.4GHz-only. The Sync Module and Blink Mini simply cannot use 5GHz, so a phone on a 5GHz network - or a router that band-steers everything onto 5GHz under one name - stops setup dead at the network step. People re-type the password over and over when the band is the real problem.
Get your phone onto the 2.4GHz network, split the bands or disable Smart Connect so Blink can find 2.4GHz, and set the module up near the router. Watch the Sync Module's LEDs - solid green and blue means it's online, red means no internet. Turn off AP isolation, keep security on WPA2, and if it still won't join, reset the module with the pinhole button on its side and try again on 2.4GHz.

Step-by-Step Solution
Use the 2.4GHz Network
Every Blink device - Sync Module, Sync Module 2, and Blink Mini - connects only to 2.4GHz WiFi (802.11 b/g/n) and won't respond on 5GHz. During setup, connect your phone to your 2.4GHz network and choose that network for the module. This single point fixes the majority of Blink WiFi failures.
Turn Off Band-Steering
Many routers broadcast 2.4 and 5GHz under one name (Smart Connect / band-steering), which can push Blink onto 5GHz and fail the join. Temporarily split the bands into separate SSIDs, or disable band-steering during setup, so Blink lands on the 2.4GHz band.
Enter the Password Carefully
A wrong password or an unsupported special character fails setup right after you pick the network. Re-type the password, watch for autocorrect capitalizing the first letter, and avoid unusual symbols in the network name or password that Blink may not accept.
Move the Module Closer
Set the Sync Module up within good range of the router - a weak signal at the module makes setup fail or the module drop offline afterward. Once connected, you can relocate it, but keep it where the 2.4GHz signal stays strong.

Disable AP or Client Isolation
AP isolation (client isolation) stops your phone from reaching a new device on the network, which blocks Blink setup. Turn it off in the router settings during setup; you can re-enable it later if you use it.
Read the Sync Module LEDs
The Sync Module's two front LEDs show its state - a solid green plus solid blue means it's online. A red light means no internet, and a blinking pattern means it's still connecting or in setup mode. Use the LEDs to tell whether a change actually connected it.
Set Compatible Security
Some Blink devices won't join a WPA3-only network. Set the router's 2.4GHz security to WPA2, or WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode, so the module can authenticate and stay connected.
Reset and Retry
If it still won't connect, reset the Sync Module by holding the reset button (the small pinhole on the side of the module) until the light turns red, then set it up again on the 2.4GHz network. If a reset module close to the router still won't join a WPA2 2.4GHz network, contact Blink.
