Step-by-Step Solution

Confirm the base has power

Check the power supply is firmly plugged into both the charging base and a working outlet, and test that outlet with another device. Inspect the cable from the power supply to the base for cuts or a loose plug. Most Landroid bases show a light when powered, so if the base is dark the fault is upstream of the mower and no amount of cleaning the mower will fix it.

Clean the charging contacts on mower and base

Grass clippings and dirt build up on the metal charging pins on the front of the Landroid and the matching contacts on the base, breaking the connection. Wipe both sets with a dry cloth and gently clear any packed debris so the pins meet cleanly. Dirty or corroded charging contacts are the single most common reason a Landroid docks but never charges.

Reseat the battery to reset a stuck charge

Turn the Landroid off, remove the battery for about 30 seconds, then refit it and switch back on to clear a hung charging state. If the battery is completely flat, the Landroid may need to sit on the powered base for a while on emergency charge before it shows any sign of life, so leave it docked and powered rather than assuming it is dead.

Help a Landroid Vision find its base by QR code

The Landroid Vision does not home by boundary wire or wireless; its camera reads a QR code on the base to dock. Make sure that QR code is clean, undamaged, and not shaded or hidden by grass, and that the approach along the right edge of the lawn is clear so the camera gets a straight look at it. A dirty or blocked QR code is why a Vision circles the yard and fails to dock.

Check base placement and the boundary approach

On wire-based Landroids the mower follows the boundary back to the base, so confirm the base is on level ground on the correct edge with clear space in front, and that the boundary wire runs into it correctly. A base on a slope, sitting crooked, or with the wire loose at its terminals makes the mower miss the contacts even when it arrives.

Restart both, then escalate

Power-cycle the mower and the base, then send the mower home from the Landroid app to test docking. If the base has power, the contacts are clean, and it still will not charge or dock, the battery, base board, or charging circuit may have failed.
