- Wyze Cam Plus subscription not assigned to the Doorbell Pro device
- Subscription payment failed or plan changed excluding Doorbell Pro
- microSD card not inserted and no active cloud subscription
Problem Description
Your Wyze Video Doorbell Pro is detecting motion and sending notifications but the recorded event clips are not appearing in the Wyze app event history. You receive alerts but tapping them shows no video or a failed to load message. Wyze Doorbell Pro event recording requires either a Wyze Cam Plus or Cam Plus Lite subscription or a microSD card inserted in the doorbell for local event recording.
Symptoms
- Wyze Doorbell Pro sends notifications but no clips appear in Events tab
- Tapping a doorbell notification shows video loading error
- Events tab shows notifications but clips fail to play
- Event clips worked before then stopped after Cam Plus renewal
- Some events show clips but most show nothing
- Clips appear for indoor cams but not for Wyze Doorbell Pro
Recognize these? Here's what usually causes it.
Common Causes
- Wyze Cam Plus subscription not assigned to the Doorbell Pro device
- Subscription payment failed or plan changed excluding Doorbell Pro
- microSD card not inserted and no active cloud subscription
- App cache preventing new clips from displaying
- Doorbell Pro upload bandwidth insufficient for cloud clip delivery
- Wyze cloud event processing delay during high demand periods
Most fixes happen in the first 3 steps.
Do not format a microSD card that has been used in a different device without reformatting it in the Wyze app first. Cards formatted outside Wyze use incompatible file system settings that the doorbell cannot write to reliably.

Step-by-Step Solution
Assign Cam Plus to Doorbell Pro
Open the Wyze app and go to Account then Services then Cam Plus or Cam Plus Lite. Check the list of cameras assigned to your subscription. If the Wyze Doorbell Pro is not listed tap Add Camera and select it. Each Cam Plus license covers one camera and if the Doorbell Pro was not explicitly assigned it records notifications but does not upload cloud clips. After assigning wait 5 minutes and trigger a doorbell press to confirm a clip now appears in Events.
Check Subscription Status
In the Wyze app go to Account then Membership and check the Cam Plus subscription status. Verify the subscription shows as Active and the renewal date has not passed. If the status shows Expired or Payment Required renew the subscription. After renewal re-assign the license to the Doorbell Pro under Services. Clips resume immediately after a valid subscription is restored.
Insert a microSD Card
The Wyze Doorbell Pro supports a microSD card up to 32GB for local event recording. If your Cam Plus subscription has lapsed or if you want a local backup insert a compatible microSD card into the slot on the doorbell unit. With a microSD card inserted the doorbell records 12-second event clips locally regardless of cloud subscription status. Access local clips through the Wyze app under the Doorbell Pro device playback section.

$69.99Clear Wyze App Cache
On Android go to Settings then Apps then Wyze then Storage then Clear Cache. On iPhone delete and reinstall the Wyze app to clear cached data. After clearing cache open Wyze and sign back in. Navigate to the Doorbell Pro Events tab and pull down to refresh. Stale cache can cause the app to display old or failed clip data rather than fetching the latest clips from the cloud.
Wait for Cloud Processing After Notification
Wyze Doorbell Pro clips are processed in the cloud after the event is detected. The notification can arrive 20 to 30 seconds before the clip is available in the Events tab. If you tap the notification immediately after receiving it the clip may still be processing. Wait 2 to 3 minutes after the notification arrives before checking Events. The clip should appear once cloud processing completes.
Quick Solutions
Still having issues? This is usually the deeper cause below.
If this comes back after following these steps, check whether a recent app or firmware update reset a default setting — the fix works, but the setting gets reverted silently.
Enable Person Detection in Wyze Cam Plus for the Doorbell Pro to reduce false event notifications from wind, leaves, and vehicles. Person-filtered events produce a much shorter and more useful event history.
This issue almost always looks more complex than it is — the majority of cases trace back to a single setting, a stale credential, or a default that shipped wrong.
