Installation Steps
Power Down and Prep
Turn off power to your heating and cooling system at the breaker box. Remove your old thermostat's cover and take a clear picture of the existing wire connections. This photo will be your guide. Use the Nest or Google Home app to check for compatibility.
Label Wires and Remove Old Base
Use the provided labels to mark each wire according to the terminal it's connected to on your old thermostat. Once labeled, disconnect the wires and remove the old thermostat base from the wall. You can now prepare to install the new Nest base.
Install Nest Base and Connect Wires
Use the trim plate if needed to cover any holes or paint marks. Attach the Nest base to the wall, using the built-in bubble level to ensure it's straight. Connect the labeled wires to the corresponding terminals on the Nest base, following the wiring diagram from the app.
