Check which alert types are enabled in the Ring app

Open the Ring app, tap your doorbell, and go to Motion Settings. Check that Motion Alerts are toggled on. If you use Smart Alerts (Ring Protect), check that Person detection is enabled — if you only have Package enabled, you will not get alerts for people at the door. Check WiFi signal strength at the doorbell

In the Ring app, tap the doorbell, then Device Health. Check Signal Strength (RSSI). A value of -40 to -55 is good. -60 to -65 is acceptable. Below -65, notifications will be significantly delayed because the camera struggles to upload the clip. If signal is poor, check the distance from your router to the doorbell. Add a Ring Chime Pro (which also acts as a WiFi extender) or a mesh WiFi access point near the front door. For hardwired Ring Doorbells, also check that the transformer voltage is 16-24V AC — a low-power transformer causes the WiFi module to run at reduced power.

Check for Do Not Disturb and Focus modes

iPhone Focus modes and Android Do Not Disturb suppress all notifications including Ring. On iPhone, check Control Center for any active Focus mode — tap the Focus icon to disable it or add Ring as an allowed app in that Focus mode. On Android, check for Do Not Disturb (moon icon) in the notification shade. Some phones also have scheduled DND that activates automatically at night. If the doorbell press notification is fast but motion notifications are slow, the delay is in motion processing (cloud-side), not push delivery.
