Overview

You want to set up your Govee Envisual T2 TV backlight with the camera module for real-time screen color matching. This guide covers mounting the LED strip behind your TV, positioning the camera module above the screen, calibrating the camera in the Govee Home app, and fine-tuning the color sync accuracy.

What's Included

  • RGBIC LED strip with 3M adhesive pre-applied on back
  • Camera module with adjustable angle mount and USB cable
  • Control box with HDMI passthrough or WiFi camera input
  • Power adapter with barrel connector for control box
  • Double-sided mounting tape for camera positioning
  • Calibration card and quick start guide with QR code

Got your materials ready? Here's what to check first.

Before You Start

  • Camera must face the TV screen not behind the TV
  • Position camera centered at top of TV bezel or frame
  • Ensure no objects block the camera view of the screen
  • Room should be dimly lit during camera calibration step
  • WiFi must be 2.4GHz for Govee Home app connection
  • HDMI models require passthrough between source and TV

Don't skip this step — it breaks everything if you do

Warning

Do not place objects between the camera and the TV screen after calibration. Anything blocking the camera view will cause incorrect color mapping and flickering on the LED strip segments.

Installation Steps

1

Mount the Camera Module

Attach the camera mount to the top center of your TV bezel using the included double-sided adhesive tape. Clean the mounting surface with alcohol first. The camera lens must face forward toward the TV screen. Adjust the angle so the camera can see the entire screen from edge to edge. Connect the camera USB cable to the control box. Position the cable along the top edge of the TV tucked behind the bezel.

Apply LED Strip Behind TV

Clean the back edges of your TV with the included alcohol wipe. Starting from the bottom center peel back the 3M adhesive a few inches at a time and press the strip firmly against the TV edge. Work your way around all four sides. At corners fold gently at 90 degrees using mounting clips for support. The strip connector end should route to where your control box will be positioned near the power outlet.

3

Connect the Control Box

Connect the LED strip cable to the control box input port. Connect the camera USB cable to the camera port on the control box. For HDMI models connect your media source HDMI cable into the control box input and run an HDMI cable from the control box output to your TV. Plug the power adapter into the control box and then into a wall outlet. The LEDs should light up confirming power.

4

Calibrate the Camera

Open the Govee Home app and add your Envisual T2 device. Once paired navigate to the camera calibration screen. The app will display a white screen on your TV. Align the green border in the app with the edges of your TV screen as seen through the camera preview. Adjust the camera angle physically if corners are cut off. Tap confirm once all four corners are accurately aligned. The app will save the calibration profile.

5

Fine-Tune Color Settings

With calibration complete play a colorful video on your TV to test real-time color sync. Open the Govee Home app and adjust saturation between 80 and 90 percent for the most accurate color match. Lower the brightness if the backlight overpowers your TV image. Enable game mode if you use the TV for gaming to reduce sync latency. You can also manually assign color zones to specific screen edges in the advanced settings.

Installation Tips

Mount camera before applying strip for easier access
Use the white calibration screen in app for accuracy
Adjust camera angle until all four screen corners visible
Set saturation to 80-90 percent for best color match
Enable game mode for lower latency color response
Fine-tune edge zones in app if corners show wrong color

Still stuck? This is usually the deeper cause below.

Pro Tip

Dim your room lights during camera calibration for the most accurate edge detection. Overhead lighting or window glare on the TV screen causes the camera to misread screen boundaries and degrades color sync quality.
