What Does the eufy RoboVac Error Code E04 Mean and How to Fix It?

Problem Description

Your eufy RoboVac announced Error E04, and the eufy Clean app says the rolling brush may be stuck. The main roller brush in the underside cage is wound with hair or bound by debris and can't turn, so eufy stops to protect the brush motor.

Why This Happens in Real Homes

Error E04 is the rolling brush binding up - the long roller in the center cage that does most of the actual sweeping. Because it turns at speed against the floor, long hair winds around it and packs into the roller joint and end caps until the brush motor stalls and eufy stops to avoid damage. Pop off the brush cover, lift out the roller, and slice the wound hair off along its length, then clear the roller joint, end caps, and suction inlet where hair hides. Open the Brush Cover

Flip the RoboVac over. The rolling brush is the long roller in the cage across the center of the underside. Squeeze the tabs on the brush cover (the frame over the roller) and lift it off to expose the brush.

Lift Out the Rolling Brush

Pull the rolling brush straight up out of its cradle. Note the roller joint on one end and the bearing cap on the other so you can refit it the same way round.

Cut Away Wound Hair

Hair wraps tightly along the roller and packs into the grooves. Slice along the brush with the cleaning tool's blade or scissors, then peel the hair off in strips.

Clear the Roller Joint and End Caps

eufy specifically calls out the roller joint and end caps - pull the caps off and dig out the hair and dust packed inside. Clogged ends are a top cause of a brush that binds and won't spin.

Clean the Suction Inlet

With the brush out, look at the suction inlet just behind the brush cage. Pull hair and debris out of this mouth so airflow and the brush both run free.

Reseat the Brush and Cover

Drop the rolling brush back in the correct way round, then clip the brush cover back down until it locks. A brush or cover that isn't fully seated jams and re-triggers E04.

Replace a Worn Brush

If the bristles are splayed, flattened, or thin, pickup suffers and the brush binds more easily. Swap in a genuine eufy rolling brush - it is an inexpensive wear part.
